Brooklyn Mall shows care for the elderly
From 19 to 23 May, Brooklyn Mall in Pretoria hosts an awareness campaign event for Go Turquoise for the Elderly. During these days, from 9 am to 2 pm, members of the public can find out how they can assist and support their older family members and the elderly in their communities.
Free screening tests
Persons over the age of 60 can undergo the following FREE screening tests, sponsored by Dischem Brooklyn and Food Safe:
- Blood glucose, to help prevent diabetes
- Blood pressure tests
- Bone density tests, only on 19 May from 10 am to 3 pm (maximum number of tests: 20).
A table with information pertinent to the elderly will also be available. For those over 60 years of age visiting the table, there is a free cup of coffee or tea sponsored by Wimpy, Brooklyn. Also, come and see how easy it is to get around the Mall with one of its Shop Riders.
Find out more about a healthy body from the nutrition and the exercise tables. Nature’s Choice and Run and Walk for Life will assist you to lead a healthy balanced lifestyle.
A cosmetics table with a variety of sponsors is just what is needed as winter comes along. From dry skin to make-up applicable to an older skin will come under the microscope. So, bring your cosmetic woes to us and we will advise on the right treatment for the problem.
A lucky draw for those who purchased a turquoise ribbon takes place on 23 May. The wonderful prize is a vitamin hamper worth approximately R500 sponsored by Vital.
