PRETORIA BOYS HIGH CARES
Learners Go Turquoise 4 the Elderly! As part of this campaign, learners from Pretoria Boys High visited Machteld Postmus Complex for the elderly in Brooklyn on Friday 16 May and helped cover tree trunks in the vicinity with turquoise fabric.
The boys visit the Complex regularly to play board games with the residents but this was a visit with a difference. If you happen to drive around Lynnwood and Brooklyn and notice the turquoise tree trunks, you will notice that the learners demonstrated their care about the elderly in a very visible fashion.
Pretoria citizens are requested to exhibit their own care about the elderly in a similar manner or by wearing turquoise clothing until 15 June, when the 2014 awareness campaign comes to an end. We also welcome the submission of proverbs about the elderly in all our official languages. Please add an English translation and an explanation of the meaning of the proverb and email it to us at email@example.com.
